Useful audio controls

One video in.
One audio file out.

This page accepts one MP4 file and outputs MP3. Conventional H.264 MP4 samples with AAC audio have been verified. Other MP4 codec combinations may not decode successfully.

Large files can still exceed the memory available to your device or browser. Results depend on the file, codec and device.

For the parts worth replaying.

  • Save the spoken audio from a personal MP4 recording.

  • Create an MP3 copy of a lecture or presentation you are allowed to use.

  • Prepare portable audio from a compatible camera or screen recording.

Good audio starts
with the source.

A higher MP3 bitrate usually keeps more detail, but it also creates a larger file. The 192 kbps default is a practical middle ground; 128 kbps is smaller, while 256 and 320 kbps use more space.

Converting cannot restore detail already lost in the source. Sample-rate and channel changes do not turn low-quality audio into lossless audio.

Frequently asked
questions.

Something else on your mind?

Get in touch
Can I save only part of the audio?

Yes. After choosing a file, open Advanced settings and enable Trim audio. Enter start and end times in seconds or hh:mm:ss; the segment must be at least 0.1 seconds long and within the video. If the browser cannot read its length, you can still convert the complete file. Trimming does not bypass input size or memory limits.

Is my MP4 uploaded?

No. The selected media is processed locally in your browser and is not sent to our servers.

Which MP4 files are supported?

This homepage accepts MP4 containers only. We have verified conventional H.264 MP4 samples with AAC audio, but browser memory and codec compatibility can vary by file and device.

Which MP3 bitrate should I choose?

192 kbps is a balanced default for many recordings. Lower bitrates create smaller files; higher bitrates create larger files but cannot restore quality already lost in the source.

How long does conversion take?

Conversion time depends on the file size, media structure, device performance and browser. There is no fixed speed guarantee.

Are MOV and WebM files accepted here?

No. This page is specifically for MP4 to MP3 conversion and clearly rejects MOV, WebM and other containers.
