Containers and codecs are different
The extension names the container
MP4, MOV and WebM are containers. Each can hold different video and audio codecs, so an accepted extension alone cannot guarantee conversion.
Support follows tested combinations
This page is verified with H.264 and AAC in MP4 or MOV, plus VP9 and Opus in WebM. It does not support every video codec.
Choosing MP3 quality
192 kbps is the balanced default. 128 kbps is smaller, while 256 and 320 kbps create larger outputs.
Converting AAC or Opus to MP3 is lossy. A higher bitrate cannot restore detail already missing from the source.
Auto sample rate and channels avoid forcing another layout unless a playback target requires it.
Video to MP3 limits
- Only MP4, MOV and WebM containers are accepted, and the page does not support every codec they can contain.
- A video without an audio track cannot produce an MP3.
- The soft limit is 500 MiB on desktop and 200 MiB on mobile; available browser memory may be lower.
- Conversion speed varies by file, device and browser. Keep the page open while it runs.

Which video formats have been verified?
We verify MP4 and MOV with H.264 video and AAC audio, and WebM with VP9 video and Opus audio. Other codec combinations may fail.
Does the MP3 keep the video?
No. MP3 contains audio only. The converter selects the first audio track and leaves the video track out of the result.
Will 320 kbps improve a low-quality source?
No. It can reduce additional MP3 loss, but it cannot recreate audio detail absent from the original video.
