Mono combines the source channels and reduces PCM file size. Stereo keeps a two-channel output. Auto retains the source channel count; adding a channel cannot create a new stereo recording.

This tool decodes the source audio into 16-bit PCM. WAV is usually much larger than AAC or MP3, but can be useful when an editor asks for uncompressed audio.

The PCM bit depth is fixed at 16 bits. MP3 bitrate controls do not apply to this output, and 24-bit or 32-bit WAV is not offered.
At 48 kHz, 16-bit stereo PCM uses about 11 MiB per minute, plus a small header. Mono uses about half that amount. Longer recordings can hit the output limit even when the MP4 is small.
Yes. Enable Trim audio in Advanced settings and enter start and end times in seconds or hh:mm:ss. Keep the range within the video and at least 0.1 seconds long. If its length cannot be read, complete-file conversion remains available. Input and WAV output limits still apply; the full input may still need to fit in browser memory.
No. The converter stores decoded audio as 16-bit PCM. It cannot restore detail already lost in a compressed source such as AAC, remove noise or enhance a recording.
The output is signed 16-bit PCM. Sample rate can be Auto, 44.1 kHz or 48 kHz; channels can be Auto, Mono or Stereo. Auto preserves the source settings. There is no MP3 bitrate control for WAV.
An MP4 can contain heavily compressed audio. WAV stores uncompressed PCM here, so output size depends on duration, sample rate and channel count. At 48 kHz and 16-bit stereo, one minute needs about 11 MiB.
Conversion stops with an output-size error. The tool does not offer a truncated WAV as a successful result. Try a shorter source, mono output or the MP4 to MP3 tool for a smaller listening file.
Yes. Open Extract Audio from Video, select Original audio and choose the MP4. A compatible AAC track is copied into M4A without another encode.
No. Conversion runs in a Web Worker on this device. The site downloads its conversion engine when you start conversion, but your media bytes stay in the browser.
